“The Seven Seals”
February 20, 2022
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; and has made us kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. And every creature which is in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever. And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer… (The Revelation of John, chapter 5-chapter 6,verse 2)
As Jesus said the people in the synagogue of Nazareth, “This day is this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.” (The Epistle of Luke, chapter 4, verse 21)
The Lord Jesus Christ has been stirring me to announce to his people and anyone else who is willing to listen that we are approaching a time of great human turmoil and testing of both the church and the world. Judgment has already begun with the house of God, the church over these past twenty years or so. Think of all the scandals which has hit the church, its pastors, ministers and people, including also the Roman Catholic church. The Lord’s winnowing fork is in his hand and he is purging out iniquity in his people. We are grateful to God for that, as it has enabled us to repent and turn to our God in our gracious and merciful Lord Jesus Christ and find mercy and redemption. “Hallelujah! The King, our God Almighty reigns!”
If the church has undergone testing for purification the house of God, how much more should we bow before our God and tremble when God in Jesus Christ begins the judging of the nations. The Seven Seals as proclaimed by John in the Revelation of John show the coming judgment of the nations. When Putin invades Ukraine in a few more days, the opening of the seals of God, which usher in the end of history as we know it will have begun. Putin is not the white horse, riding to conquer, but he will apparently set in motion a series of events which are the fulfillment of the first of the seven seals. The image of the rider on the white horse with a bow and a crown going forth conquering and to conquer is a metaphorical image of all that is coming on the earth after the first seal is broken in heaven. God the Father gives authority to God the Son (‘the Lamb which has been slain and has redeemed us to God by his blood of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation”) to take the book and open the seven seals which are the last judgments of God on the earth, which when they are concluded will summarize all of human history, bringing an ending and conclusion to all things, and “time shall be no more!”
Prayer: “In all of human history persons of faith have sought to interpret and to understand the meaning of these scriptures and apocalyptic teachings of the end of the age. Knowing so little, O Lord, we are simply asking for you to help us, give us insight and wisdom into your Holy Scriptures that we may teach others and serve you with joy and without fear. Help all our brothers and sisters who are suffering in Christ for Thy name’s sake, for we pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Redeemer and our soon coming King. Amen and Amen!
Bill Wilson, servant of God by God’s gracious mercies.
Amen.
