The Lord God, my (our) Redeemer woke me from sleep this
morning to give me this word:
“If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them,
and they pray unto the towards this city which thou has chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name,
Then hear from heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their
cause.
If they sin against thee, (for there is no man who sinneth not), and thou is angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near,
Yet if they take it to their hearts in the land where they are carried captive, and they turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;
If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast
chose, and towards the house which I have built for thy name,
Then hear from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned
against thee.
Now, my God, Let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place.
Now, therefore arise, O Lord God, into they resting place, thou, and the ark of thy
strength; let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
O Lord God, turn not away the face of thine anointed; remember the mercies of
David, thy servant.
Commentary:
This is an old scripture and since the temple of the nation Israel in the Old Testament period of Solomon, who was king of Israel after his father David, no longer exists, having been destroyed by the Babylonians in 687-686 BCE, it may seem difficult
to make the application of this scriptural passage to our day and our situation. Nevertheless, this passage still has
relevance to us, as this is the WORD OF OUR GOD, which is STILL RELEVANT TO USand still holds MORAL AUTHORITY OVER US, if we are Christian believers who worship and serve Jesus Christ:
The relevance of this passage of Holy Scripture is this: We (collectively, as the people of God in this place, in this day and in this hour) have sinned against Almighty God, the
LORD GOD, our Savior and our Redeemer, Jesus Christ. We have gone to war against out so-called enemy, the Republic of Iran and the Iranian peoples. We are the aggressor, and the Iranian people are the recipients of our aggression!
Remember the children of Iran! Remember the 300 little girls who were killed by our bombs near Tehran! Would Jesus
Christ, who says, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the kingdom of God” (Luke 18:16-17) actually be involved in killing little children, innocent lives before God? I think not! I hope you also agree with me!
There are some who tell lies! Don’t believe their words! By their fruit you will know my disciples (see the Gospel of Luke 13:6-9 and the Gospel of Matthew 7:15-20).
As a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the living and
Risen Son of God, I appeal to you in Jesus’ name, to hear this word of the Gospel of Grace and Truth! We have sinned
against God!!! It is time and it is necessary that we repent, turn to God, seek God’s face and seek forgiveness and
redemption.
It is as simple as that:
Let us pray a collective (corporate) prayer of forgiveness:
“Lord God, Almighty God, King of the Universe and our
God, Savior, Redeemer and Friend:
Hear, O Lord God, our prayer of repentance, as we seek
forgiveness of our sins. We do not want
this peoples’ blood on our head or our hands.
In your mercy, show us mercy.
Lord, have mercy! Christ have
mercy! Lord have mercy!
Forgive our sins!
Heal our land!
In Jesus’ name we pray, with thanksgiving for your
abundant grace and living mercy! Amen
Bill Wilson, servant of God by God’s grace and mercies.
